Best 6.7 Cummins Valve Cover: Expert Torque & Reliable Parts

6.7 CUMMINS VALVE COVER is a component precision-machined from aluminum alloy, designed for installation on Cummins 6.7 engines. This valve cover plays a critical role in the engine’s intake and exhaust systems. Therefore, its dimensions, material, and sealing integrity are vital for performance.

The valve cover made by YZDL are produced using a one-piece billet machining process, offering superior stability and sealing performance compared to traditional products. Thanks to this specialized manufacturing technique, our 6.7 Cummins billet valve cover are popular.

What engine malfunctions can be caused by the valve cover?

Most Common Issues: Oil Seepage and Leaks

  • Aging cover gaskets, cracked housing components, or uneven bolt torque can lead to oil seepage and dripping around the valve cover area.
  • If oil drips onto the engine block or hot sections of the exhaust system, it creates a risk of spontaneous combustion and causes unpleasant odors within the engine bay.
  • Prolonged Seepage → Rapid Oil Depletion and Low Oil Levels, Accelerating Engine Wear

In addition to leaks, valve cover issues can lead to burning oil and power loss

Burning oil, loss of power

  • A damaged PCV valve diaphragm or abnormal ventilation flow can cause engine oil to be drawn into the intake tract and subsequently burned within the cylinders.
  • Symptoms: Blue smoke emitting from the exhaust, pungent exhaust fumes, frequent depletion of engine oil, and rapid accumulation of carbon deposits.
  • Aggravated carbon buildup in the intake tract, throttle body, and valves leads to restricted airflow, resulting in reduced engine power and increased fuel consumption.

How to Replace the 6.7 Cummins Valve Cover?

  1. Clean the valve cover and the rocker arm housing, ensuring that the surfaces are free of oil stains and debris.
  2. Install a new valve cover gasket; place the gasket into the recess within the valve cover and verify that it fits perfectly and sits flush against the cover.
  3. Install the mounting bolts; the specified torque for the valve cover bolts is 12 Nm.
